Around March 2013, he gained admission into the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife to a four-year program in the English Language. During his time on campus, he continued writing songs and perfecting his talents in music and on-stage performance.

During this time in OAU, he managed to perform on programs and events around the campus. By the end of 2017, he bagged a bachelor’s degree in the English Language at the Obafemi Awolowo University.

Soon after his graduation, he went moved to Lagos, music full-time, and went by the name Fireboy DML. DML is the acronmy form of his name, Adedamola.
