History Of Keystone Bank
Keystone Bank, sometimes known as Osy’s Bank, is one of Nigeria’s several commercial banks. Keystone Bank was founded in 2011 by Umaru Modibbo and is licensed by the Nigerian Central Bank. It has a total asset of $1.916 billion (307.5 billion Naira).
Habib Bank was the bank’s name until 2005, when it merged with Platinum Bank, resulting in the name change to Platinum Habib Bank, popularly called Bank PHB. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) canceled Bank PHB’s banking license and issued one to Keystone Bank on August 5, 2011. Keystone Bank then took up Platinum Habib Bank’s assets and liabilities.
On Monday, March 20th, 2017, AMCON, the nominal owner of Keystone Bank, announced that Sigma Golf Nigeria Limited and Riverbank Investment Resources Limited (the Sigma Golf-Riverbank Consortium) had purchased the bank for $81.5 million from 25 billionaires.
Following the successful divestiture of AMCON (The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria) from the Bank, a 5-member progressive Board was formed to oversee the Bank’s new growth and competitiveness plan. On August 15, 2017, the transitional arrangement was effectively completed with the acceptance of the substantive MD/office. CEO’s Customers in many categories, such as public sector, corporate, commercial, and retail, benefit from the Bank’s deposit and loan programs.
The preceding bank left the bank with 154 branches, two (2) international subsidiaries, and one (1) local insurance company (PHB). Global Bank Liberia, Keystone Bank Sierra Leone, and KBL Insurance are among the subsidiaries.
