Naira Marley has been caught up in the web of several controversies since he made his mark in the Nigerian music industry. The artiste has used his influence as a music artiste to drum support for Internet fraudsters, scammers, and Yahoo Boys in Nigeria.

His stance on internet fraud attracted mixed feelings from celebrities, entertainers, and the Nigerian populace. Nigerian entertainers such as Ruggedman and Simi opposed Naira Marley’s view and support for internet fraudsters.

Naira Marley, who happens to be an advocate of internet fraud released the song ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ which featured Zlatan Ibile; a buzzing song that went viral shortly after release.

Subsequently, Naira Marley was arrested by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, May 10th, 2019, a date which coincidentally falls on his birthday. He was arrested alongside other music colleges, Rahman Jago, Zlatan Ibile, and two others.
